CO.FE.ME is now able to offer the marine market the new DBS particulate filter system for marine diesel engines. A major innovation in the maritime sector, the DBS system allows for guaranteed automatic regeneration of the filter during operation of the vessel.

The highly innovative nature of the new DBS system is indisputable. The system is indeed able to regenerate in a purely passive manner when the exhaust gas temperature exceeds 250°C thanks to the filter coating, meaning it is therefore not necessary to activate diesel injection. Under low-load situations, the filter retains the soot particles, and when a given backpressure value is reached, the system automatically enables injection, thus performing filter regeneration. The filter oxidises the injected fuel via the catalytic process, which encourages heating of the exhaust gas and regeneration of the filter while obtaining low operating backpressure values.
